All over the world the lily (or lilium) has been a celebrated flower for thousands of years. It’s easy to see why with so many shapes, colours and sizes, not to mention their powerful fragrance.

Lilies are so easy to grow too. All they ask for is a little drainage so that they don’t become water logged. They can then be left for many years, flowering again and again.

Oriental lilies have tall stems and highly scented blooms. Used by florists in only the most prestigious bouquets, they also make perfect garden show-stoppers.
