Allium Aflatunense

Perfect tennis-ball sized dense umbels of lilac heads that remain decorative when dried.  Being a similar shape but paler in colour, they pair well with Purple Sensation.

These inexpensive Allium bulbs will last for years and you should remove the seed head if you don’t want them to spread. Also known as Allium Hollandicum, Allium Aflatunense means “from Aflatun” in Central Asia, and the pronunciation a-flat-un-EN-see always used to make me stumble.
