Allium Giganteum
Slightly smaller flowers allow for a tight, dense head with a good strong purple colour. The flower heads can be upto 15cm across on exceedingly long stems, upto 150cm tall. As one of our tallest bulbs they can stand a little wind, however to protect them they may need a sheltered spot. As ever, alliums do best in full sun in moist but well drained soil.
Their height makes them a great architectural feature but also work well in groups. A long flowering period Allium Giganteum are a great source for butterfiles and bees.
