Allium Red Mohican

This allium bulb makes a welcome return to our spring bulb collection this year. Allium Red Mohican is strikingly different in colour and shape, the smallish heads around 4cm diameter wave on long stems standing 90cm tall. The clusters of dark wine-red flowers are tipped with white, like tiny cigars, and the sphere is pulled upwards into cox combs.

These look good planted in groups amongst lower growing perennials. Like all alliums, deer and squirrels tend not to eat them, but they will attract butterflies and bees. They are easy to grow, fragrant and look interesting as dried flowers.
