Eranthis hyemalis (Winter Aconite)

A good partner to the snowdrop, Eranthis thrive in woodland and shady areas.

When so much of the garden is bare, these cheery, yellow buttercup-like flowers appear very early on, closely followed by the snowdrop.

Aconites are one of the first annual splashes of colour to emerge announcing spring is on the way!
