Wild English Bluebells (harvested under licence)

These bluebells are particularly special as they are some of a limited number of true wild hyacinthoides non-scripta available to buy legally in the U.K.

The bulbs have been dug from a sustainably managed wild population at the foothills of the Snowdon massif under licence from the Welsh Government (63058:OTH:WCA:2015). Only limited amounts are available annually.

We are delighted to be working with Dr. Vera Thoss who takes care of the hillside where they grow and oversees the manual lifting of the bulbs - which is very hard work due to the shoulder-high bracken sharing the site. Please take a look at the Vera Bluebell website for more information www.verabluebell.co.uk

Dr. Thoss is currently researching the chemistry and ecology of the English bluebell. She has given talks to gardening clubs, appeared on BBC Wales, Countryfile.
