Peonies have been cultivated in China for over 2,000 years. They became very popular in gardens and as cut flowers during Edwardian times.

Peonies produce flowers in almost every colour known, except blue. The stunning and often fragrant Peony flowers, come back to delight you year after year. They flower in late spring / early summer, and in addition, the plant itself is an attractive hedge or bush. Peony foliage lasts all summer, finally turning purple or gold in autumn.

Peonies perform best in deep, fertile, moist soil with good drainage. Peony bare root plants should be planted in a sunny location, sheltered from the wind.
