Anemones take many different forms, from the wind flower to the Japanese Anemone. They are all part of the Buttercup family, Ranunculaceae.

Originating from North America, their home is on chalky soil. A small but robust plant growing 15cm wide and 25cm high.

Summer flowering anemones bloom from June to August. Plant in well-draining and fertile soil, they like semi shaded areas, or places in the sun. Summer flowering anemones don’t require much attention and will continue to spread if left alone.

The foliage will die back in winter. They don’t like to be too wet and may struggle in very wet winters.
