White & Bicolour Trumpet Daffodil Bulbs
A trumpet daffodil is when the trumpet of the flower is longer than the petals. ‘Daffodil’ is the common term we use for the classic form of narcissus. We classify narcissus into divisions and this group are in division 1. There are none more iconic than these division 1 daffodils.
Remarkably daffodils only come in a limited number of colours, yellow, orange, white and pink. This is where you will find beautiful alternatives to the standard yellow daffodil. You can’t miss the pure white Mount Hood or the enormous Anniversary Gift. Without question some of our favourite daffodil bulbs fall into this category.
Our White and Bicolour trumpet daffodils are all grown in the fields of Lincolnshire, the heart of the UK daffodil growing region.
Daffodils are a perennial bulb, very hardy and great at naturalising. Naturalising is when bulbs naturally spread and divide to form clumps of flowers over many years. If you are looking to cover a large area with a low maintenance flower then daffodil bulbs are a great way to go. The wonderful colour combinations of the white and bi colour daffodils give you a great range to choose from.
Plant in Autumn any time between September and December. Trumpet Daffodil bulbs don’t need any special treatment and are happy in all soil types. White Daffodils tend to flower a little later than yellow ones, but the flowering time is usually around March. Leave the foliage to die back so the bulbs can replenish their energy for the following year.
