More Information
Anemone Multifida Rubra is a summer flowering anemone. Anemones take many different forms, from the wind flower to the Japanese Anemone. They are all part of the Buttercup family, Ranunculaceae.
Originating from North America, their home is on chalky soil. A small but robust plant growing 15cm wide and 25cm high.
Anemone multifida Rubra have bright red and simple flowers appearing from June to August. The petals are elliptical tending to show a little white at the base. The foliage has a well-defined star shape in deep, waxy green and has fine hairs.
Plant in well-draining and fertile soil. Suitable for semi shaded areas, or place in the sun. They don’t require much attention and will continue to spread if left alone.
The foliage will die back in winter. They don’t like to be too wet and may struggle in very wet winters.
