    More Information

Asiatic Lily White – Long lasting flowers of pure white. A recurved and smooth petal; upright flowers on long stem make these an elegant flower for cutting. Asiatic lilies are the first lilies to flower in summer.

Asiatic Lilies enjoy a long blooming season (up to 1 month) and are a fantastic way to add colour to your garden. Asiatic varieties are early flowering lilies and non-scented.

Asiatic Lilies grow from bulbs and will return every year at the beginning of summer. Plant your lily bulbs in Spring or Autumn, 15cm deep in moist but well drained soil. They are hardy and like plenty of water during the flowering season. You can add fertiliser to help the blooms but it is not essential. Lily bulbs thrive in full sun to part shade locations and do great as potted plants or as cut flowers.

    Caring for Asiatic Lily Bulbs

Deadhead your lilies, but allow the foliage to die back naturally. Don’t cut stems back until they are hollow and brown, allow the plant to feed the bulb for next year’s flowering.

Asiatic lily bulbs are generally hardy down to temperatures of -10 to -15°C and require little protection over winter in areas of the UK subject to slightly milder winters. In colder parts of the UK, it may be necessary to cover those planted in borders with mulch or fleece. If they are in pots, move them undercover during cold spells.
