    More Information

Canna Carnaval is a tropical perennial with red flowers finely edged with yellow. The foliage is a beautiful broad green leaf, similar to that of a banana plant. This fast-growing plant can reach up to 4 feet in height flowering between August and September.

It is best to plant Canna Carnaval in early spring in rich soil, but keep them indoors until the weather has warmed up. They are quite happy in containers.

Water your canna plants every 1-2 days, depending on the weather conditions and the size of the pot. Be sure to use a soft-spray setting so that you don’t overwhelm the fragile roots with too much water. The soil should remain moist but not wet. If you find that excessive amounts of water are evaporating quickly, consider adding more mulch or other organic material like compost to help hold moisture in.

Fertilize your canna plant regularly for best results. A balanced 10-10-10 fertilizer is usually recommended and should be applied every 2 weeks during the growing season. If the leaves start to yellow, consider using an organic fertilizer such as seaweed or fish emulsion for better results.

Canna plants prefer sunny spots with exposure to at least 6 hours of direct sunlight every day. If your plant is not getting enough light, it may become spindly and will produce fewer blooms. Consider relocating the canna to a sunnier spot if desired. Additionally, make sure to rotate the pot occasionally so that all sides get an equal amount of sunlight.
