More Information
Choisya Ternata Sundance, also known as Mexican Orange Blossom or Sunday Dancer. It is a species of evergreen flowering shrub native to Mexico. It’s known for its glossy, deep green foliage and fragrant white flowers that bloom throughout spring and summer. The new growth is pale yellow.
The foliage can be quite dense with pruning but is quite slow growing. It is easy to keep it under control. It will grow up to 2 meters wide and high.
When growing Choisya Ternata Sundance, it’s best to plant in locations with partial sun and well-draining soil. If planting in full-sun areas during the hottest months of summer, it’s important to provide extra water during dry spells. This shrub is hardy and may not need additional fertilizer; however, an application of balanced fertilizer can help maintain its growth and keep the foliage looking vibrant.
To keep Choisya healthy, prune it as needed after flowering to encourage new growth and remove any dead wood. This shrub is also highly resistant to pests, so insect or disease control measures are rarely necessary. However, during dry periods make sure to water deeply; otherwise, the leaves may turn yellow and the buds may drop off prematurely. With proper care, your Mexican Orange Blossom will stay healthy and vibrant for years!
For best results when growing Choisya, planting in a sheltered location can help protect it from strong winds or frost damage.
