Eremurus, commonly known as foxtail lilies, have fleshy roots that are often referred to as perennial tuberous roots. These roots are thick and fleshy, similar to tubers, and are best planted over a mound, then covered with soil.

It adds height and structure but also looks great amongst wild planting.
