    More Information

Knautia Macedonica Red Knight is a beautiful perennial flowering plant that is native to parts of Europe and Asia. It has striking red flowers and grows up to 75 cm (30 in) tall. The pincushion-like flowers are held by long, slender stems that can be quite stiff and branched. Each flower head contains many small petals surrounding the central disc of hot pink colours. The leaves are pale green and lance-shaped, with entire margins and slightly scented foliage.

Knautia, commonly known as Widow Flower or Scabious, makes a good cut flower, and can add stunning visual interest when planted en masse as part of a border or ground cover.

    Growing Knautia Macedonica

This easy-care perennial thrives in sunny sites with well-draining soil, though it can tolerate some light shade too. It is generally pest and disease resistant, but may require some deadheading to prolong the flowering season. A great addition to any garden, Knautia Macedonica Melton Pastels will bring a burst of colour and beauty to your outdoor space.

For best results for your Knautia Macedonica Melton Pastels, plant in groups or borders for maximum effect. To keep the plants looking their best long-term, it is recommended that they are pruned back down to ground level each spring as new growth begins. This allows more room for the new shoots to grow, helping keep the plants neat and compact. Additionally, removal of spent flowers throughout summer helps encourage reblooming and ensures that there is always an abundance of colourful blooms on display.
