Mixed Trumpet Daffodils 25kg

Mixed Trumpet Daffodils 25kg are one of the best buys for bulk planting. You get between 450 and 500 bulbs per sack which should cover around 9 metres square. Its much more if you plant them in small clumps to achieve a more natural look. The flowering times range from February to April so you will get a prolonged flower display. They are ideal for large areas and will spread over time.

Daffodil is really a common name for Narcissus and it’s what we think of when referring to a trumpet variety. Daffodils are divided up into many ‘divisions’. The top division being the trumpet. That is, any daffodil where the cup is longer than the petal. It is the most classic form of narcissus and a timeless representation of spring.

All of our narcissus come from local farmers around the Lincolnshire area. In this mix you will receive a mixture of all the trumpet varieties we have in stock. This includes early pure yellow flowers to the later pure white flowers, with bicoloured flowers in-between.

How to Plant

Mixed Trumpet Daffodils 25kg ideally  want to be planted before November to get the roots started but they will still perform if planted into January. They can take most soil types and are fully hardy.

Plant in semi shade or full sun, 10-15 cm deep and anywhere from 5 – 10cm apart. You don’t have to be too precious; watch this video of us planting a 25kg sack of bulbs.

Once they are planted they shouldn’t need any additional care.

Trumpet Daffodils Mixed bulbs are repellent to squirrels and deer although slugs and snails can make a bit of a mess early in the year.

Over time Trumpet Daffodils Mixed will naturalise by spreading seed and by dividing. Just make sure you leave the foliage to die back so they come back the next year. It can take several years for bulblets and seeds to develop into flowers.
