More Information

Narcissus bulbocodium Arctic Bells – is an exaggerated example of the variety and versatility of daffodils. This narcissus bulb produces such a dainty, creamy yellow flower that changes to white as it matures. With their hooped cup and the tiniest petals, they might look bizarre when regarded as a daffodil, but in their own right they are an exquisite little flower. Narcissus bulbocodium Arctic Bells are quite low lying, reaching just 15cm in height, they flower amongst their slim, grass like leaves.

How to grow Narcissus bulbocodium Arctic Bells

Plant these bulbs in pots or borders in a good soil in Autumn. The bulbs are only small and can be planted 8cm deep and around 8cm apart. These bulbs prefer well-drained soil that is moist in the growing season in spring, in full sun or light dappled shade.

They are relatively low maintenance and will come back year-on-year. They benefit from being deadheaded as the flowers fade, and allow the leaves to die down naturally so that the bulbs have nutrients to come back the following year. They can be left to naturalise if planted in grass or under trees, or anywhere they can be left undisturbed.
