More Information
Narcissus Thalia is one of our favourite bulbs of the spring flowering season. It’s been a popular bulb since it was developed in 1916. A tall stem of 50cm producing up to 3-4 flowers of pure white. The petals are reflexed with a delightful twist. It is also known as the Orchid Narcissus because of its unique form. Narcissus Thalia flowers are scented making them a wonderful flower cut and put in a vase.
They flower in April for 2-3 weeks. They make an excellent paring with some strong under planting such as Hyacinth Woodstock or Muscari. Or try planting with single tulips such as Purple Flag. White is always a good colour to pair with.
How to plant
Narcissus Thalia is an easy bulb to grow. Most narcissus don’t require any effort. They take to all soil types and can cope in hard winters. Plant 10-15cm deep. You can plant them 5-10cm apart depending on the density you need for your display. They will grow in pots too, just make sure the soil doesn’t dry out and there is plenty of room for the roots to grow.
The bulbs will be available from September and we continue to supply them into December. It is ok to plant the bulbs any time in autumn. Plant in full sun or semi shade
We have lots of Thalia bulbs available during the autumn. If you are looking for a wholesale price on bulk items please get in touch.
