Penstemon are perfect for growing in mixed herbaceous borders or in pots on the patio. Bees and other pollinators love them.
Growing Penstemon
Grow Penstemon in full sun to partial shade, they like moist but well-drained soil. Deadhead spent blooms to help to prolong flowering. In colder regions, you may need to offer some winter protection – apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost in Autumn to protect the roots. Divide congested clumps in spring.
