Growing Penstemon

Grow Penstemon in full sun to partial shade, they like moist but well-drained soil. Deadhead spent blooms to help to prolong flowering. In colder regions, you may need to offer some winter protection – during autumn cut to the ground and apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost to protect the roots. Divide congested clumps in spring. New growth will appear the following summer season.
