An herbaceous perennial, growing up to 80cm tall, with mid-green, divided leaves and cerise-pink flowers up to 20cm wide.
Peonies don’t flower for a long time so its just as well the foliage is striking too. Starting off from rusty red shoots opening out into a large green bush that will last for most of the the summer.
Peonies grow best in a deep, fertile, moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil in a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade. The plant may need support.
