Narcissus pseudonarcissus Lobularis (Lent Lily)

Sale!

These dainty flowers with characteristic lemon yellow tapering perianth and darker yellow trumpet inspired the most famous poem in the English language; Wordsworth’s “I wandered lonely as a Cloud”; whilst he was walking along the shore of Ullswater.

This Narcissus; also known as The Lent Lily; is native to the UK. It’s smaller than horticultural varieties; with paler petals and prefers damp woods; fields; grassland and orchards. We also sell these daffodils “in the green” early in the spring.

Plant about 15cm deep spaced out at around 100 per square metre. We plant ours very close for our ‘in the green’ stock as you can see in the photos. Over time this will be too cramped for them but makes a stunning display.

The bulbs are very small so take care to plant them quickly or keep them well ventilated (but don’t let them dry out). If your planting area isn’t ready; sometimes the best way to store bulbs is heeled into a temporary spot or planted in trays.
