More Information

Tulip batalinii Bronze Charm is a species tulip of copper orange with a red streak. Tulip batalinii Bronze Charm is a colourful and comparatively large species tulip with nice silver foliage. These are capable of re-flowering each year when placed in borders and beds.

Species tulips are the smaller ancestors of modern tulips, before they were cultivated in the Netherlands.

How to grow Species Tulips

Plant Species Tulip Bulbs around 15-20cm and 15cm apart, between October and December. They will perform best in well draining soil and a sunny, or semi-shaded location. After they have flowered, leave the foliage in place to die back. This should take around six weeks and allows nutrients to transfer back into the bulb ready to flower again next spring. Species tulips will naturalise if you avoid deadheading and allow them to produce seed.
