    More Information

Tulip Black and White Mixture – is a mixture of Tulip Queen of Night bulbs and Tulip Clearwater bulbs to make a contrasting blend of black and white tulips.

Tulip Queen of Night is one of our biggest sellers. It is a near black tulip somewhere between a deep burgundy and dark, dark purple. It’s not possible to grow a pure black tulip but in the right light this is as close as you will get. Especially put in contrast with the pure white Clearwater tulip. Both bulbs are in the single late group of tulips, so they will flower simultaneously in April to May. The tulip black & white mixture creates a striking effect which is rarely seen in nature.

    What are Single Late Tulips?

Single late tulips are the classic tulip shape and come in a wide range of vivid colours. They are the last Tulips to bloom, typically in late April and into May.

Plant tulip bulbs in Autumn between October and December. Dig a hole 10-15 cm deep and space at least 8cm apart. You can use a trowel, a bulb planter or dig a trench and place the bulbs in position and cover over. Tulip bulbs don’t like too much water over winter, but they need regular watering over spring.

We pack all of our bulbs in our warehouse in Lincolnshire. Our smallest pack is 10 tulip bulbs. This will be enough for a large planter. We recommend planting 60-70 bulbs per square metre. This is a collection worth planting in larger numbers. Large orders can be custom picked to reduce packaging.
