More Information

One of the last tulips to flower in spring Tulip Blue Parrot is a beautiful flower. As a parrot tulip, it isn’t overly mis-shapen like some parrot varieties. It has some delicate curled frills but maintains a classic single tulip shape.  This is accented by the violet and purple colour that fades as it reaches to the outer petal. Tulip Blue Parrot is very tall and flowering in May it is well worth adding these to your garden to prolong your tulip flowering period.

How to plant tulip bulbs

Tulip bulbs should be planted in a well-drained soil but they manage well in all types. Try not to over-water them in winter but keep them moist from February.  Plant tulip bulbs in a sunny or a slightly shaded position at about 10cm deep. You can plant up to 60-70 tulip bulbs per square metre. A pack of 25 tulips will make a full display in a bed or can be split into 2 or 3 pots and containers.
