What are Single Late Tulips?
Single late tulips are the classic tulip shape and come in a wide range of vivid colours. They are the last Tulips to bloom, typically in late April and into May, an excellent bulb to end the tulip flowering season with, plus, they make a beautiful cut flower.
Planting Single Late Tulip bulbs
Plant tulip bulbs pointed side up into a hole of around 10-15cm deep. If you are planting lots of tulip bulbs, we recommend digging a little trench to save time. Tulips prefer good drainage, so add some grit underneath to help the water flow away. However, make sure the bulbs stay moist during the spring months, as they start to grow.
When planting in pots we use a mixture of garden soil, grit and loam. You can plant up to 60-70 tulip bulbs per square metre.
