    More Information

Tulip Happy Generation – is a glorious white and red tulip, a member of the Rembrandt family of tulip bulbs. An oval flower of ivory fading to white, with red stripes that appear from the base, usually with a predominant central stripe, echoed by yellow/green flecks. This bulb produces quite a large oval head on a long stem. The foliage has a clean white edge on the green leaf, which is always a pleasure to see. Tulip Happy Generation has the closest resemblance to the famous Sempre Augustus, the tulip bulb that cost more than a house, back in the days of Tulip Fever!

These tulips look great planted in a large group together. The colouring is quite busy and a simple display like this are very effective.

    How to plant tulip bulbs

Tulips will grow in full sun or semi shade and in any soil type. Plant the bulbs approximately 10cm deep and 8-10 cm apart. We suggest planting 70 bulbs per square metre. Planted in beds tulips don’t need a lot of care, there should be enough moisture and drainage in the soil. Just make sure they don’t dry out in prolonged periods of dry weather. It is often recommended that tulip bulbs are replaced each year. You can see why here
