In order to keep Tulip Jan van Ness healthy, there are several steps you should take when growing and caring for them. One of the most important things to consider when planting these tulips is the location. Find a spot in your garden with well-drained soil that receives at least six hours of direct sunlight throughout the day. Plant bulbs 10cm deep, spacing them at least 8cm apart from one another. Once planted, be sure to water them regularly so that the soil stays moist, but not soggy.

Finally, once the tulips have finished flowering and the foliage has turned yellow or brown, it’s time to cut back the stems and deadhead spent flowers. You can lift the tulips as soon as they have finished flowering or wait until you plant you dahlias. This will ensure that your garden remains neat and tidy throughout spring and summer months
