How to plant and care for your Tulip hageri Little Beauty

Plant your botanical or species tulip bulbs around 15-20cm and 15cm apart. They perform best in well draining soil and a sunny, or semi-shaded location, but can be planted in beds, borders, pots or lawns. After they have flowered, leave the foliage in place to die back. This should take around six weeks and allows nutrients to transfer back into the bulb ready to flower again next spring. Species tulips will naturalise if you avoid deadheading and allow them to produce seed.
