More Information
Tulip Pinocchio is a very stylish tulip. A short and early greigii tulip of bright crimson red. The petals are slightly reflexed and symmetrical which is emphasised by the thin white edge. The leaves echo the curves of the flower and frame the stem perfectly. They are green with a slight purple tinge. Greigii tulips have some of the best foliage but it can be eaten by slugs as there isn’t much else for them to eat at this time.
Tulip Pinocchio falls into a class known as rockery tulips. They are some of the first tulips to emerge. As the name suggests you can place them in a rockery, or pots and beds. Flowering in March you can also mix in with puschkinia or anemone blanda bulbs.
