Tulip Purissima

Tulip Purissima is an early beauty. These tulip bulbs are early to flower in April, just before single early tulips arrive and last for a long time. Tulip Purissima has quite a unique shape that opens and closes with the warm sun. The colour begins ivory white but will become paler as it gets older. Often with a light streak of green down the central vein of each petal. Plant with other fosteriana tulips for some interesting colour mixes, but we thing these pale tulips look great on their own. Exotic Emperor is the double form of Purissima.

Plant in autumn between October and December. These tulip bulbs will be happy in a container or in beds. Any soil will do and they can be planted in full sun or semi shade. Tulip Purissima is quite a good tulip for re-flowering the next year. It is always worth lifting the bulbs in summer to see if there are any bulbs worth replanting. They want to be at least 9cm in circumference. Keep dry and well ventilated and replant in October.
