Tulip Purple Flag – is a single tulip with a large head of all purple. A mid-season tulip flowering in April lasting into May. Reaching up to 45cm high, triumph tulips are a very versatile. Suitable for beds and pots, and ideal as a cut flower too. Daffodils and tulips don’t mix in a vase, as the daffodils will cause tulips to wilt. Tulip Purple Flag is a good colour to add to mixes, try with different shades of purple such as the magnificent Negrita, Mistress or even Tulip Candy Prince.
How to plant tulip bulbs
Tulip bulbs are very easy bulb to grow. Plant the bulbs in any soil type and grow in full sun or semi shaded positions. Place the bulbs approximately 10cm deep with the point facing up. Space them 8-10 cm apart. The best time is in October or November but any time in autumn between September and December will be fine.
