More Information
Tulip Purple Prince – is a single early tulip flowering in late March. It is a parent to Parrot Prince and other variations where you might see ‘Prince’ in the name. A simple but bold tulip flower, growing to 35cm high, the strong purple colour makes a statement early on in the year. It also lends it self to being paired with other single early tulips. Try Tulip Purple Prince with the Tulip White Prince, Tulip Salmon Prince or our favourite Tulip Candy Prince for a great combination!
How to plant tulip bulbs
Plant your tulip bulbs in well drained soil but they will grow in most soils. During extended wet periods in winter you can cover them over to avoid them getting water logged. Keep them moist during the growing season. When growing in pots, use a mixture of garden soil, grit and loam to get a balance of drainage and water retention.
Tulip bulbs can be planted in full sun or a slightly shaded position at approximately 10cm deep. For further advice have a look at our growing advice on tulip bulbs.
