More Information
Tulip Ronaldo – is a very dark red tulip, in the triumph group. Flowering at the end of April lasting into May at 40-45cm tall. Triumph tulips are single flowers with the classic tulip shape. Perhaps the most versatile tulips bulbs, they sit well in any position in the garden. Whether it is in pots, borders or beds they make a magnificent display. Although exceptionally dark with hints of maroon and deep purples, tulip Ronaldo is accented by the milky white bloom (as on all tulips and plants) to give further depths of intrigue.
How to plant tulip bulbs
Plant tulip bulbs in a well-draining soil 10 cm deep. Tulips bulbs can be planted between October and December, even into January. They need a 6 week period of very cold weather so they can start growing once the winter sun begins to warm up. Tulip bulbs will produce quite a lot of hair like roots, so if you are planting in pots make sure you give them plenty of room. They can be positioned in full sun or dappled shade. We often prefer to plant them in a little shade to help prolong the flowering time.
