To ensure healthy growth and plenty of blooms each year, proper care must be taken when planting and caring for tulips. When planting tulips, it is best to do so in the autumn months after the first frost hits. Plant bulbs four inches deep and eight inches apart in well-draining soil with full sun exposure. Fertilize once or twice a year during the growing season with an all-purpose fertilizer such as 10-20-10. Water generously when the plants are established but not too much over winter.

Remove any dead or damaged foliage soon as possible and cut off faded flowers after have bloomed. This will encourage new blooms for the following season. Additionally, it is important to mulch around your tulip bed in order to retain moisture and protect from extreme temperatures throughout the winter months.

With good planting, care, and maintenance, Tulip Silver Dollar bulbs can provide stunning colour for spring.
