Tulip Voicemail

Tulip Voicemail – is a double late tulip flowering from mid to late April. A bright red tulip with white edge that bleeds deeply into the petal of the tulip flower.

Double late tulip bulbs are some of the most impressive flowers, often called peony flowering. Their billowing heads are packed with colour and last for a very long time. Usually around 40cm high on sturdy stems. Mixing a contrast of two colours can make a very impressive tulip display.

How to Plant

Tulips are easy to grow providing they have free draining soil and plenty of water once they start producing leaves. Plant 10cm deep with the point of the bulb facing up. You can plant them quite closely however double late tulips have quite large heads and probably could be spaced further apart for maximum impact.

Fancy tulip bulbs such as these Tulip Voicemail need larger bulbs of a size 10/11 or more. Once the flower has finished the bulb splits into many smaller bulbs. These bulblets won’t flower next year so it is wise to lift them. They can be kept for a couple of years to bulk up, if you have room and time to do so. You can read more here
