More Information

White Parrot is one of our favourite decorative tulip bulbs. A pure white and highly figured parrot tulip that deserves to be put into a vase. There are a few different types of white parrot tulip, these are perhaps the purest in colour. All tulips begin green and parrot tulips are perhaps the most interesting in bud form but when the sun shines on them they open up really wide creating a huge display.

This is one of the shorter parrot tulips but the heavy head wouldn’t be supported on a long stem. I would pair these with a single late tulip, the contrast between the short decorative tulip and a tall elegant tulip would work very well.

How to plant

Tulips are easy to grow, pop them in the ground in either semi shade or a sunny position. If you want to see them really open up I would recommend planting in a sunny place. However, full sun can shorten the overall flowering time of the tulip. Plant them 10 cm deep and 8-10cm apart to give them room to shine.

Water them sparingly during winter but don’t let them dry out. You can water them more regularly once they start to show through the ground. Plant in Autumn between October and December.
