Tulip Yellow Purissima

Tulip Yellow Purissima is an eye-catching variety of tulips that produces lovely yellow blooms in early spring. These tulips are quite easy to grow, and with a bit of care they can produce vibrant displays of colour for many years to come. 

The best time to plant Tulip Yellow Purissima bulbs is in late autumn. Planting them too early risks exposing the bulbs to bugs which can damage them. Plant the bulbs about 10cm deep and 10cm apart from one another so that their roots have enough space to spread out and take hold in the soil. Make sure the area receives plenty of sunlight throughout the day; tulips prefer at least six hours of sunlight per day and thrive in full sun. 

Once planted, water the bulbs regularly; keep the soil moist but not soggy, as too much water can cause root rot. Fertilize once in early spring with a organic fertilizer to provide nutrients and encourage growth. Tulips should require deadheading, you should cut off any wilted flower heads to discourage diseases from spreading. Pests such as slugs and snails may feed on early tulip blooms, so be sure to check for these regularly and take action if necessary.
